Breve pezzo di mia produzione, realizzato su Linux con software free:

- lead sound: minimogueVA VST
- bass sound: superwave P8 VST
- mastering software: ARDOUR for Linux

I plugin VST li ho utilizzati eseguendo VSTHost per Windows tramite Wine con le librerie WineASIO. Con VSTHost ho aperto tutti gli strumenti VST, ed ho assegnato a ciascuno un diverso canale MIDI impostando un filtro in ingresso sul canale. Nel sequencer (Rosegarden) ho mandato tutti i segnali midi ai VST tramite la porta MIDI THRU, ma il segnale di ciascun VST era impostato sul canale MIDI corrispondente a quello impostato su VSTHost.

I used VST in Linux running VSTHost for Windows under Wine with WineASIO library. Within VSTHost I open all the VSTs, and assign each one a single midi channel filtering midi-in signal. In the sequencer I send all midi signal to the VST into MIDI THRU port, but each VST is sent with the right MIDI channel.

Prendendo spunto da quest'ottima guida in Italiano ho provato a far funzionare qualche soft-synth su Linux.

La tecnica è piuttosto semplice: una volta installati Wine e Jack, ed installate le librerie wine-dev e libjack eccetera eccetera come spiegato nel link qui sopra, con il passaggio

regsvr32 wineasio.dll

si è ufficialmente dotati di supporto ASIO per Wine.
